Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) invest $51,350 in Technoparc Montréal to support its international activities

Montreal, June 4, 2009 – Mario Monette, President and CEO of Technoparc Montréal, has announced that Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada is granting the organization $51,350 in financial aid to help it implement its foreign development and prospecting strategy.

The financial aid will enable Technoparc Montréal to develop country and business sector studies, comparative analysis and strategic plans, and to produce the material needed to promote Montréal as a place where cutting edge aerospace, life sciences, information technology and telecommunications, and environmental technology firms should establish themselves or invest in. As part of its plan, Technoparc Montréal will also overhaul its Website and create information kits and brochures.

The aid will also help bring in more foreign economic and scientific delegations, as well as potential immigrant investors looking into the business opportunities offered by the city.

The government aid is being provided through the Invest Canada-Community Initiatives (ICCI), a shared cost program that helps Canadian communities attract, retain and expand foreign direct investment.
