The period from March 2017 to March 2018 marked the 30th anniversary of Technoparc Montréal. We were able to remember the highlights of the site at every opportunity. We also had several on-campus events, including the Techno Games, seminars with consular delegations, conferences with our partners … and a great souvenir album!
We would like to sincerely thank all our partners who supported us during these 12 months. Thanks to them, we have been able to revitalize the celebrations and to make the Souvenir Album accessible to you, our residents and collaborators.

Indivior
The specialty pharmaceutical company Indivior Canada has moved its headquarters from Ottawa to Technoparc Montréal. The company is exclusively focused on bringing to Canadians its unique medications that have revolutionized addiction treatment, including the very serious problem of opioid addiction. A team of 25 Indivior employees are based at or report to the new office. Hubert Reeves honoured by the Prime Minister

Technoparc Montréal is very proud of the distinction received by Mr. Hubert Reeves. The latter received this month the rank of Grand Officier of the National Order of Quebec. The decoration was presented to him by Prime Minister Philippe Couillard at the Délégation générale du Québec in Paris during a ceremony. This is the highest distinction awarded by the Province of Quebec. Join us to warmly congratulate him on this highly deserved distinction!

A Technoparc company will save you dollars

Congratulations to our resident of the Technoparc, CITweb. The company got good media coverage on one of its flagship products, TicketAlert.me. The product is based on the collaboration of users via their smartphones to signal to motorists that they do not respect the indications for street parking. Technoparc Montréal is pleased to see that the project initiated in our co-working area is gaining momentum! KPI opening

At the beginning of March, KPI Digital inaugurated its new offices at the Technoparc de Montréal. Several guests were present during a 5-7 celebrating the official opening. They were able to interact with the KPI Digital’s team, visit the company’s premises and listen to several speeches, including one by Mr. Benny Cohen, President of KPI Digital and one by the Mayor of the Borough of Saint-Laurent, Mr. Alan DeSousa. Technoparc Montréal would like to welcome this new company on its site!

Consular visits

During the last month, Technoparc Montréal collaborated with 3 consular delegations. First, we had the honor to greet the US Consul General, Mr. Robert W. Thomas for a presentation on the Technoparc, especially in the life sciences industries, followed by a visit of the NEOMED Institute. Also, we exchanged with the Swiss Ambassador Bénédict de Cerjat and the Swiss Consul General Elisabeth Bösch Malinen at the Swiss Consulate in Montreal. Finally, we welcomed the Consul General of Brazil, Mr. Rubens Gama and delegates from the Brazilian Consulate to plan potential exchange strategies between the two countries in the Life Sciences, Biology and Pharmaceutical industries. These collaborations and exchanges will lead to future structuring projects for the development and international outreach of the Technoparc de Montréal.

Seminar with distinguished guests

Technoparc Montréal was proud to participate early this month in the conference “Doing Business in Europe – Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement” (CETA) with distinguished guests:

– M Michel Audet, Delegate General of Québec in Brussels
– Mrs Marianna Simeone, Quebec Delegate in Rome

Financing morning event: a success!

Technoparc Montréal is proud to have partnered with Développement économique Saint-Laurent, Export Montréal Ouest and the Saint-Laurent-Mont-Royal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCSL-MR) for this event, which has been very popular not only for Technoparc companies but also from the Borough of Saint-Laurent and the city of Montreal. Technoparc Transport Committee

The committee held a meeting at the end of February. Thanks to all the participants, we were able to realize several important points and bring ideas for improvements:

• Two additional departures for the 72 bus line are planned in the morning towards the west around 8am from March 2018 and another has been added in towards the East at 4:07pm since November 2017.
• The route of bus 215 will be modified to add two stops in the east direction in the Technoparc.
• A proposal will be officially submitted to the STM for a new service line that would make the link between the Henri-Bourassa metro and the Technoparc. The STM will study this proposal seriously.
• The start of the work on the Henri-Bourassa overpass at the A-40 is scheduled for 2018. This refurbishment, which should last more than two years, will lead to lane closures but should not affect truck traffic. The Borough of Saint-Laurent makes sure to make the link with the project leaders and to communicate the information. Technoparc Montréal will broadcast the info.
• A few streets in the Technoparc are still without sidewalks. Several public transit users have to walk on the streets, especially in the winter, making the journey unsafe. Therefore, a formal request will be written by the committee to the city, requesting to have sidewalks in all the streets of the Technoparc.
• Security for pedestrian crossings at bus stops was also discussed. The STM and the Borough of Saint-Laurent will coordinate their work before the marking begins in May, makin sure there will be increased safety for pedestrians.
