Visits of international delegations at Technoparc

During the last month, Technoparc Montréal had the privilege to welcome two international delegations. The first one was a large delegation from South Korea comprised of several high officials from the Korean Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX). We focused on potential exchanges between the 2 countries, especially in high-tech industries such as life sciences, aerospace, information technology and clean technologies. The visit was a great way to continue the exchanges between the two countries and introduce also the services offered by our partners at Montréal International.
The second one was a delegation from Mexico, like the ones we had in spring and early summer. The members of the large delegation were here to learn more about the Technoparc and the quality of life it provides to its residents. They were also interested in the ecological measures taken for the development of our Eco-campus Hubert Reeves, our sustainable and ecofriendly campus targeting companies in cleantech. A great way to communicate our effective actions and strategies in our mission to enrich Montreal’s economy and ecology
Should your delegation be interested to meet at the Technoparc de Montréal, please contact us right away. It will be our pleasure to meet with you and discuss your future plans!

Celebrating National Drive Electric Week

Canada is celebrating National Drive Electric Week from September 8th – 16th to raise the profile of plug-in vehicles and bring awareness to the financial and environmental benefits of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
So why should Technoparc companies care about electric vehicles? If you have company cars or rent vehicles for business travel, you’ll immediately lower your carbon footprint. You’ll also reduce indirect carbon emissions while lowering Canada’s dependence on foreign oil and promoting local jobs and Quebec’s economy. On top of that, you’ll save money in the long term by using a more efficient vehicle.
In all North America, Quebec drivers stand to gain the most financially by switching to electric vehicles; our energy rates are highly competitive, and the government is offering businesses and individuals a rebate of up to $8,000 on the purchase or lease of a new electric vehicle, up to $4,000 for a used vehicle, and rebates for installations of charging stations for employers.
What kind of things can your company do to shift towards electric vehicles? There are many ways you can reduce your carbon footprint with plug-in vehicles. First, if you lease, buy, or rent vehicles for purchase, prioritize electric or hybrid vehicles. At our ERA office, we installed priority parking with free charging stations for electric vehicles, and we recently hosted an automotive sustainability conference recently featuring test drives from local dealers. We’re passionate about electric vehicles and would love to help you get started. Please send an email to ERA at info@era-ehs.com or see their Website.

Concentric

Since joining the rapidly growing ag tech sector in 2007, Concentric (formerly Inocucor) has been using its proprietary fermentation process to design powerful biological-based crop inputs that improve yields and create stronger, healthier plants. The company’s flagship product, SYNERGRO®, is a blend of beneficial bacteria that, when applied to crops, stimulates the plant microbiome leading to healthier plants – like how probiotics improve human health. The crop yields of this ground-breaking technology help growers and can also improve their economic livelihood, close the global food supply gap and reduce the environmental impact of traditional crop management practices.
The Concentric Technical Center of Excellence in the Technoparc Montréal is a 20,000-square-foot research and development facility that houses the company’s lab and production processes. Concentric also has a U.S. commercial headquarters near Denver, Colorado. Its nutrition division, ATP Nutrition, is in Oak Bluff, Manitoba.
